Generally speaking, testing machines operate in only two modes regarding the direction of motion (or force application): tension and compression. The various modes commonly observed-such as tension, compression, bending, shear, peeling, tearing, puncture, and abrasion-refer to the specific types of stress applied to the specimen. Regarding detection and control: while these are distinct concepts, they are inseparable. In a specific system under specific test conditions, the control function typically regulates only one specific parameter (for instance, an electric tensile tester controls the movement speed of the test platform). Conversely, there are usually multiple detection parameters; an electric tensile tester, for example, typically monitors load, displacement, and deformation. Detection Ranges and Control Ranges

  • Detection ranges: These serve to enhance measurement sensitivity and resolve issues associated with using a high-capacity machine to weigh or measure small loads.
  • Control ranges: These are used to address precise positioning requirements while also ensuring measurement accuracy.


Relationship Between Range-Specific Amplification and Measurement Ranges
These are distinct yet interrelated concepts. Range-specific amplification refers to a specific parameter of the sensor amplifier, whereas the measurement range refers to a global characteristic parameter of the testing machine itself. For the user, the latter is of practical significance, while the former does not require their attention.
